Senior moments

Saturday, July 15, 2023

I love old folks.

I enjoy conversations with senior citizens.

They’re a wealth of knowledge and many have a great sense of humor.

Here are some tidbits of wisdom I’ve heard throughout the years from our elders.

As long as it is physically possible, visit places you wish to visit.

When there is an opportunity, get together with old classmates, colleagues and friends.

Treat sickness with optimism.

If worries can cure your sickness, then go ahead and worry. If worries can prolong your life, then go ahead and worry.

Our kids will make their own fortune, with or without your help.

Look after your old body, retirement funds, and old friends.

You must laugh everyday.

Think of hard times like stormy weather, they too will pass.

Love your work, for the salary and the people.

Make the most of less.

Don’t be afraid of an honest day’s work.

Forgive.

Get outside.

Eat that piece of cake.

Don’t fear aging.

Find romance in the small stuff.

Don’t give up on love at any age.

Last but not least, always make time for family.

Basically, it all comes down to this...enjoy every moment of your life.

Amen.

See you out there.
