Lytyron Robinson, 37
In 2011, Lytyron Robinson became a volunteer for the Malden Fire Department and recently joined on as a full-time engineer and firefighter. He appreciates the comradery of being a member of the Fire Department and has, since he first volunteered, enjoyed being around the other fire fighters.
"I'd walk through fire for every last one of them," he has said.
Lytyron grew up in Malden, graduated from Malden High School, and was twice elected a member of the Malden City Council representing Ward I.
For many years, he was self-employed running his own trucking business and traveling often to the Easter part of the United States.
While still in high school, Lytyron enjoyed an active social life, played on the football team, and was a member of the basketball team while still managing to work full-time at Tysons.
He tries to live each day with the understanding that he should not worry about the things he cannot control because God has gone before him and taken care of those things. He hopes to continue to be a positive role model that his children, daughters, Jonbrielle, Qyntyah, Lytyrionna, and Braelynn, and others can look up to and encouraging others that if you put God first, you can do anything.
Those same young women, as well as his sister Latonya Robinson, mother Pauline Robinson, and his grandmother, the late Virginia Robinson are all inspirations to him.
During his tenure with the Malden City Council, he most enjoyed learning from fellow Ward I Councilmember Debra Wilkerson and serving with the other Councilmembers. He also appreciated learning the ins-and-outs of city management and how things run. Robinson believes that during that time, he was able to do some good for the City.
He wants to continue to contribute to the success of Malden and knows that as a fireman, he can also help the community.
"I want to be able to help the community- someway, somehow."
Currently, he is the Worshipful Master of St. Luke Lodge 80 AF and AM and the current Grand Junior Warden of St. Matthews Grand Lodge AF and AM where he has been actively involved for twelve years.
In his spare time, his family enjoys traveling and just enjoy each other's company.
Having spent his entire life in Malden and choosing to rear his daughters there, Lytyron hopes to continue to help the people of the town in any way he can.
