Tuesday was a day of celebration in Kennett.

For the first time in quite awhile we welcomed new industry to our town.

There are many reasons I’m happy to see Cim-Tek Filtration arrive in our community.

For one, it’s very nice to see an empty factory being utilized once more.

As I drive past on my way to work, it gives me a good feeling to see cars in the parking lot.

Another reason I’m proud for Cim-Tek Filtration bringing a location here is their dedication to community.

From day one, CEO Jeff Ayers subscribed to the DDD.

He’s now bought a home here.

He’s spoke at local civic clubs.

They exude a feeling of community pride and they’ve just landed.

The Ayers family started Cim-Tek Filtration in 1956 and it continues to be a family business.

The sense of family was prevalent at the grand opening celebration, as uncles, cousins, children, and family member after family member were on hand to celebrate the company’s success.

I don’t know about you, but I like that.

I like a family owned business setting up shop in our neck of the woods.

I like a CEO that will run a company and yet come to an early morning Rotary meeting and have breakfast with us.

I like a family owned company that sings the praises of the local country club and thanks the City for all it’s efforts in bringing them here.

Welcome Cim-Tek Filtration, and thank you for adding your family to ours.

See you out there.
