Letter to the Editor

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Editor's note: The following letter was presented to Steve Turner -- a local veteran -- during his retirement from Kennett Public Schools in 2010. Recently, the letter was submitted to the Daily Dunklin Democrat in hopes of honoring Turner in this time of remembering our Veterans.

Dear Steve,

I am writing to offer my sincere congratulations to you on your retirement from Kennett Public School. I understand that you have been an exceptional school electrician for the past 23 years. This honorable achievement marks a significant milestone in your life.

Your commitment to country and good citizenship are a testimony to all that is best in our country. You are to be commended for your selfless dedication to defend when you served in the Navy.

On behalf of myself and those you have served, I congratulate you on your retirement and thank you for your service to our country. It is an honor to serve as your U.S. Representative.

Sincerely,

Jo Ann Emerson
