Photo provided The Diamond Kings of Jonesboro, Ark., recently won the USSA 10-year-old state baseball championship in Arkansas. The team then went on to win the USSA World Series in South Haven, Miss. The Kings finished its season 46-13. Garrett Childers (the sixth player from the left in the second row) hit a home run in each of the championship games. Garrett plays third base, second base and pitches. He is the son of Gary and Marketta McAtee Childers of Jonesboro. He is the grandson of Polly McAtee of Kennett and the nephew of Bart McAtee of Kennett.
