One-liners

Saturday, January 21, 2023

Today is National One-liner Day.

A one-liner is a funny remark or joke told in one sentence, for example, in a play or comedy show.

I love one-liners.

Henny Youngman, a classic comedian of yesteryear, fashioned a whole career around one-liners.

Here are few that I enjoy.

I used to think I was indecisive. Now I’m not so sure.

Always borrow money from a pessimist. They’ll never expect it back.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it’s still on the list.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

People who take care of chickens are literally chicken tenders.

The list goes on and on.

I hope you enjoyed these one-liners and I would love to read some of your favorites.

Here is my all time favorite.

I never drink unless I’m nervous. Right now I’m a wreck.

See you out there.
