Andy Rooney

Saturday, November 26, 2022

I always enjoyed those few minutes with Andy Rooney at the end of the 60 Minutes television show.

Agree or disagree with his politics, you have to admit the man was witty.

Rooney passed away in November of 2011 at the age of 92, a month after his final broadcast.

I’ve assembled a few of my favorite Rooney quotes.

Feel free to share some of yours.

Vegetarian – that’s an old Indian word meaning lousy hunter.

Elephants and grandchildren never forget.

Nothing in fine print is ever good news.

The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.

The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

People will generally accept facts as truth only if the facts agree with what they already believe.

Everything you buy today is smaller, more expensive, and not as good as it was yesterday.

I can’t choose how I feel. But I can choose what I do about it.

So many truths in those statements.

I’ll wrap it up with one of my all time favorites from Mr. Rooney.

We need people who can actually do things. We have too many bosses and too few workers.

Amen, sir.

See you out there.
