Caruthersville officers conducted a traffic stop at the corner of East Twelfth Street and Hickory Avenue for excessive speed. When approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The 25-year-old driver, from Caruthersville, slurred her speech as she was speaking with the officers. At that time the officer asked her to exit the vehicle for Standardized Field Sobriety Test could be conducted. The driver failed to complete the test correctly and was placed under arrest. She was then transported to the Caruthersville Police Department, where she agreed to a Breathalyzer test. The test indicated that the driver’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit. The driver was then issued a citation to appear in Caruthersville Municipal Court and released to a sober driver.

Officers were contacted by two individuals near 410 Highland Ave. The subjects advised officers of an assault that had taken place against one of them earlier in the day. Both individuals were able to identify all the suspects involved in the assault. Officers later located one of the suspects, a 21-year-old female from Caruthersville, who was issued a citation to appear in Caruthersville Municipal Court and then released.
