Survivor

We’ve been through a lot.

Multiple wars, assassinations, political scandals, economic upheavals, and yes viral epidemics, including the latest COVID-19 pandemic.

Through it all there has always been one descendant.

A constant survivor.

Our country.

The United States of America.

America has held together through it all and we will again.

We have experienced many bleak times before and as broken and divided as we seem now we will eventually come together and prevail.

Remember, our nation came back together after a civil war that killed more than 600,000 Americans.

We don’t need winners and losers.

We can all be winners through national and local cooperation to defeat this latest crisis.

America is an idea, a spirit.

The American dream, the land of opportunity will prevail.

We are an exceptional people.

Don’t forget that in the days ahead.

We have, and we always will, adapt.

America will survive.

Of this I have no doubt.
