Examining 1 Corinthians 3:9-17

Please read the above text, and consider the following points. The building of God mentioned in this text is the church. In 1 Corinthians 3:9, Paul says of the Corinthian saints that, “Ye are God’s building.” In 3:16, he says, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God.” The church is “the saved”. Unsaved people are not part of the temple of God or God’s building. In 1 Corinthians 3:23, Paul says of the Corinthian saints, “And ye are Christ’s.” The context of this passage proves that when you are Christ’s, you are also a part of the church/ temple of God! How then can some religious teachers teach that “being Christ’s” is essential, but that being a part of the church is not necessary? The church is the saved. (Acts 2:47)
