Talking to children is a great pleasure in life. But, then, again, I just like good conversation. Children are so full of ideas, innocence, and inquiry. Chatting with a little boy the other day, he told me in his “big voice” that he liked my purple shoes. I thanked him and asked him what was his favorite color. As he bounced on one foot, he replied, “Oh, I like blue M&Ms, red tractors, and green shirts. I don’t have a favorite color.” He began to hum and walked away. The conversation was over. This child’s precious randomness remains with me and I still laugh along with my little pal.
