The census, why do it

Every ten years, the country in accordance to the constitution, counts America’s population; that time is here again and Census Day for 2020 is April 1. However, the Missouri bootheel, especially in Dunklin County, is one of the most poorly counted because of lack of participation. This area is part of the Delta and is also one of the poorest areas in the state, but because of the fear of government, people fail to be counted. How does the census help communities like ours, what can the government ask from you, and do they keep that information confidential?
