The adult Bible class in the church I serve decided a couple of years ago to study the Book of Genesis. This was not to be a critical review because we do not argue with God’s Word because it is God’s revelation of Himself to His human creation. I had my doubting years in my foolish late-teen, early 20s youth. I also didn’t want to find any surprises in seminary, so on my own I read volumes of theological books and science texts and journals that claimed to offer proof that Christianity was wishful thinking, and the Bible not reliable. But the critics’ “evidence” is non-existent, merely unsubstantiated accusations and very hypocritical, using double standards, especially when judging the authenticity of historical literature. A couple of examples are Plato and the 8th-century poet Homer. There are zero copies dating anywhere near their lives, but are given a pass by the same Bible critics unbelievers call “scholars”.
