James Chailland Jr.

James “Jim” Hassell Chailland Jr. of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on August 30, 2024 at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Connie Chailland (nee: Wall) of Wentzville.

He is survived by his two sons, Jaime (Marshall McClure) Chailland of Marthasville, Mo., Tony (Michelle) Chailland of Roger, Ark.; five grandchildren, Tanner (Kate) Coyne-Chailland, Brad and Allison Chailland, Jeremy (Kinzie) and Jana Rook; one great-grandchild, Juni Rook.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Hassell Chailland, Sr.; mother, LaVennia Earls (nee: Rikard); step-father, AJ Earls; brother, Donald Chailland; sister, Charlotte Gore; niece, Kim Long; and nephew, Mitch Chailland.

James was born February 28, 1942 in Caruth, Mo., to the late James H. and LaVennia Chailland, Sr. (nee Rikard).  

James was united in marriage to Connie Jo Wall on December 18, 1960 in Kennett, and to this union 2 children were born. James worked as a computer programmer for McDonnell Douglas and also was a broker/realtor for Coldwell Banker. James was a little league baseball manager in Lake St. Louis for several years. His hobbies included softball, bowling and playing golf for the Grumpy Old Men golf league in Troy. James will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
