Glenda LunBeck

Glenda Mae (Rucker) LunBeck passed from this world to her heavenly reward on July 13, 2024. She was born April 6, 1933, in Blytheville, Arkansas, and was the beloved daughter of the late George Basil and Pearl Lora Rucker. In 1949, her family moved to Gideon, Mo., where she graduated from Gideon High School in 1952. She married her husband, Ollie Dwayne LunBeck, on March 29, 1952, in Osceola, Ark., and they remained married for 63 years until he departed this world on October 11, 2015. She was a cherished wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and aunt.

Glenda was a longstanding member of the First Baptist Church in Gideon and the GFWC Woman’s Community Club of Gideon. She could always be counted on to volunteer her time and actively participate in any, or all, community projects. Working in her yard and in the flower gardens at the Gideon City Courtyard provided her much joy.

She was an excellent seamstress and worked at Gossard Garment Factory for 17 years. After retiring, she renovated and refurbished several rental properties in Gideon owned by her and her husband. In addition, she used her skills, talents, and abilities to make quilts, create artwork, and build wood projects, which she enjoyed gifting to family. She made many of the Gideon High School cheerleader and majorette outfits for events and camps.

Her four children were the focus of her life, and they kept her busy attending their many activities. Children are Kay Morgan (Ron), Pam LunBeck, Dwayne LunBeck (Erma Jo) and Martin LunBeck (Mary Diane). She had ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. All enjoyed visiting their loving, giving parent/grandparent.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Basil and Pearl Lora Rucker; her sister, Hallidene Rucker Mosby Harris; her husband, Ollie Dwayne LunBeck; her daughter, Pam LunBeck; and grandson, Kevin Morgan.

She will be greatly missed; however, we know she is having a joyous reunion with her heavenly family.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Gideon. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Randy DeProw officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden, Mo.

Honorary Pallbearers include Maggie Freeman, Carolyn Hooten, Vicki Kinsolving, Annette Rucker, and Dian Stephens. Pallbearers will be Patrick Cunningham, Adam Ferguson, David Mosby, Eugene Mosby, Jeramy Stephens, and Mike Tustison.
