Don Sikes

Don Carlos Sikes, 89, of Texas, formerly of Kennett, Mo., passed away August 23, 2024 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Texas. 

Don was born May 17, 1935, in Senath, Mo., and graduated from Holcomb High School in 1953. He was an US Army veteran, who served in Germany during the Korean War.

Don is preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Virgil and Avis Sikes of Kennett, Mo.; his daughter, Christine Sikes of Gary, Ind.; and his loving wife, Joyce E. Sikes.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Godlevsky and husband, Brett, and their son, Nathan; his granddaughter, Spring Bucior and husband, David, along with their three children, Emma, Hannah, and Luke. He is also survived by a sister, Carol Pigmon and husband, Danny, and a brother, Verlin Sikes. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday September 6, 2024 at Ely Baptist Church in Kennett. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Ely Baptist Church with Reve. Don Slatton and Rev. Matthew Kamper officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
