Carole Ann (Vincent) Hutcheson, the daughter of Charles Lowell Vincent and Jewell Caldwell Vincent, was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 25, 1939. Carole died on August 23, 2024 in Kennett, Missouri, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Carole grew up in Bolivar, Missouri and was a member of the Bolivar High School graduating class of 1957. Carole attended Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University) where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1962. She also attended the Burge-Protestant Hospital School of Medical Technology (now Cox College).
Carole married James Robert Hutcheson, a Bolivar native, on June 28, 1963. They made their home in Springfield, St. Louis, Ozark, then again in Springfield, Missouri. Jim and Carole were partners in the Hutcheson-Isdell company, which owned and operated Ozark Building Supply, and other building supply businesses in Southwest Missouri. They were members of Ozark United Methodist Church and later of Kingsway United Methodist Church in Springfield. Jim proceeded Carole in death on August 25, 2002.
Carole was a medical technologist at Smith-Glynn-Calloway Clinic in Springfield for over 40 years, helping to provide medical care for thousands of Southwest Missouri residents during those years. She was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Carole retired as the head of the hematology department of the Smith-Glynn-Callaway laboratory.
Carole and Jim had one daughter, Holly Ann Hutcheson Combs (spouse, Paul T.), born on November 17, 1964. Holly grew up in Ozark, Missouri and now makes her home in Kennett, Missouri. Carole is also survived by two grandchildren, Meredith Combs TenHoeve (Alex) of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Hayden Combs (Lillie) of Denver, Colorado, and one great-grandchild, Eli TenHoeve. Carole is also survived by a brother, David Vincent (Jean) of Bolivar.
Graveside services for Carole will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in her hometown of Bolivar, Missouri on September 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Carole’s family would like to thank caregivers Carol Powell and Matt Howard, as well as the staff of NHC Healthcare.
