The Kennett city council is about to ban smoking in city restaurants, well that may make the "Do Gooders" feel a little better but there goes another one of our civil liberties. Smokers are already separated to "smoking sections".

There is no proof that second hand smoke injures anyone.

The City of Kennett gets $100,000.00 a year from tobacco taxes, do you think this act will cause a reduction in income for the city?

More important things should be addressed by the Council Like why hasn't our utility costs been reduced when City Light Gas and Water pays so much less for Natural Gas. The City council just nod their heads when CLG&W asks if it's O.K. to raise their profit percentage which is used for all employees to have their own trucks and God only knows what else.
