Inflation Blues

Saturday, November 12, 2022

Gone are the days when a nine to five job paid all the bills and put food on the table.

Out of control inflation has destroyed the eight hour work day.

According to Insuranks, a small business insurance marketplace, 93 percent of adults have a side hustle or are working a second job.

Nearly 80 percent of those surveyed work full time, but both full time and part time respondents said they devoted an average of 13 hours per week to their side hustle.

We’re a tired nation. Exhausted, actually.

Some of these money-making ideas include placing items for sale on sites like eBay and Craigslist, and selling used clothes.

Others find extra cash by selling their plasma. Reports from states such as South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas reveal that paid donations are on the rise in response to inflation.

This shouldn’t be happening in America.

It’s one thing to earn extra money for disposable income, it’s another to do it to cover rent increase, put gas in your car, or pay for groceries.

The midterm elections are over, for the most part, now let’s get busy finding solutions to the problem. It doesn’t matter if you live in Massachusetts or Missouri, the goal for the victorious candidates should be righting this ship.

We shouldn’t have to work multiple jobs, double shifts, or open a vein to make a living.

Winning is just the first step.

Time to get busy.

I’m going to go check and see how my used books are doing on the Facebook Marketplace now.

See you out there.
