The term “helicopter parent” was used to describe a mother or father who stayed so remarkably close to their offspring the point of injecting themselves in every aspect of their lives—even involving themselves in the minute details of the friendships their elementary aged offspring—usually daughters—including all the drama. Today, those kinds of parents are described as “snow-plow parents,” clearing all paths for their children, based in their parents’ belief that it is their responsibility to make sure that their children never have to face difficulties or even face other people who would even dare disagree with their little princess or the presumed well-meaning Junior. Parents who love the Lord, study, and receive His Word in the Holy Bible as true will be more helpful to their children, but those parents are fewer these days.
