Several weeks ago I watched the 1978 version of Death on the Nile, a Poirot mystery by Agatha Christie. This beautiful movie features Peter Ustinov, Bette Davis, Maggie Smith, David Niven, Angela Lansbury, and several other talented actors. This movie was filmed over a seven week period in Egypt with many challenges besides just the heat, location, the multitude of strong personalities, and snakes. Norma and I had a wonderful conversation about Death on the Nile and Agatha Christie just last week. We chatted about the writing and her word choice which so accurately conveyed her exact message in a single word. After that, I read about Agatha Christie’s life, education, experiences, and her writing process. Agatha Christie suffered from dysgraphia which meant she could not write legibly; as a result, she dictated all of her novels. This simple tidbit of information sparked my curiosity to discover other interesting information about authors.
