Businesses going above and beyond to help the community

Thursday, March 26, 2020

Some area businesses are going the extra mile to help the community during this time of distress, turmoil, and panic.

As area grocery and convenience stores rush to restock shelves, one area business is utilizing its resources to help locals who are unable to access meats, due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Steve Panousis, owner of the Grecian Steakhouse in Kennett, said his business was open until Monday when he was ordered to close his doors. “We learned Monday that all businesses were closing their dining areas and since we are not set up for delivery or drive-thru services, we want to do what we can to help, so we are offering curbside service for our pre-orders.”

Mr. Panousis said the main concern is to protect his customers during this time. “One way we can still help the community while protecting them is to give them access to meat for as long as we are able,” Panousis said. “With the stores running out, we are selling ground beef and custom cuts of beef, as well as chicken,” Panousis said.

Since the Corona Virus has so many families wondering what they can do to make certain their family has a good nutritious meal, the Grecian has come to the rescue.

“Right now we are selling meats from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. through our Grecian Butcher Shop. We are going a step further by offering a lunch and dinner special menu for carry-out and curbside pick-up. Also for the weekend we will be taking pre-orders for family specials with a variety of meals to choose from.

“I just want the public to know that we are here and they are not going through this alone,” Panousis said. “Anything we can do to help, we will do,” he added.
