December 28, 2018

At approximately 1:09 p.m., officers were contacted at KPD in reference to a victims credit cards being used without permission at local businesses. While speaking with the victim, officers learned that their wallet had been stolen in Portageville and that the victim discovered the fraudulent transactions while reviewing their account information. Through subsequent investigation and through cooperation with local businesses, officers were able to identify the suspect. A report was forwarded to the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office for the filing of formal charges.

At approximately 4:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to The Store on Independence Avenue in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspects had left in a vehicle. Officers were able to identify, locate, and speak with the owner of the vehicle who identified the suspects. Officers also later located the suspects at which point officers arrested 31 year old Steven Clark and 33 year old Pierson Finley both of Kennett. Clark was arrested for shoplifting, released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons for the shoplifting, however held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on several unrelated warrants for his arrest. Finley was arrested on two unrelated Kennett Municipal warrants and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of W. Seventh Street in reference to a subject causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who signed a complaint against the suspect for Peace Disturbance. Officers located and subsequently arrested 25 year old Edriko Thomas of Kennett for Peace Disturbance. Thomas was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending his court date.

December 29, 2018

At approximately 12:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Southeast Missouri State University parking lot on First Street in reference to a subject brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation officers arrested 33 year old Jerry Risner of Kennett for Attempted Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of an Illegal Firearm, and Driving While Intoxicated. Risner was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 1:29 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Clipper Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties involved neither of which wished to pursue charges. Officers advised both parties of the Missouri Domestic Violence statutes and both parties agreed to separate for the night.

At approximately 9:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of S. Anthony Street in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the parties involved and learned that there had been no fight and only a verbal dispute. Neither party involved wished to pursue charges and agreed to go their separate ways.
