Hospital proposals fail, Jain wins

A somber crowd listened as election results were read Tuesday night. Both Healthcare Propositions failed, while Nicholas Jain won the Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney's race.

A stormy night brought bad news to proponents of a new county hospital in Dunklin County as both healthcare proposals failed.

Official results are pending confirmation however Proposal Health and Proposal Care both passed in Kennett, losing throughout the rest of the county. Unofficial results Proposition Health Yes- 2,309, No- 2,365, Proposition Care, Yes- 2,199, No- 2,851.

The voters elected Nicholas Jain as Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney with an unofficial count of 2,663, to Jeff McCormick's 1,789.
