Tis the Season

Easter has come, thus ending the preceding 40-day season of Lent. It’s forty days because that’s how long our Lord spent in the desert without food and was tempted by the devil. For some reason, I’m not exhausted, worn out as I usually am after Lent. Besides being busy at Lent, we pastors are just as sinful as everyone else (if not in deed, certainly in thought and word, perhaps unheard), and we take advantage of the enhanced focus on repentance, although all Christians repent on a daily basis—often many times a day. Yes, it can be less than joyful, but it is usually peaceful because we Christians know that we live under grace, just like everyone else who is breathing today.
