Feb. 14, 2018

At approximately 10:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Sonic Drive in located on First Street in reference to an employee being provided with counterfeit currency during their shift. This incident is still under investigation. Anyone who has information regarding counterfeit currency is urged to contact the Kennett Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. Note: The United States Secret Service has been notified of this incident.

At approximately 10:24 p.m., officers arrested 32 year old Amber Vanalstine of Kennett on two active warrants for her arrest. One of the warrants was a State of Missouri warrant for Stealing with no bond and the second was a State of Missouri warrant for Probation Violation also with no bond. Valanstine was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of West Fifth Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival and after subsequent investigation, officers were advised by all parties that the dispute was verbal only and one party agreed to leave for the remainder of the evening.

Feb. 21, 2018

At approximately 2:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Kennett High School in reference to a vehicle stuck in the front lawn of the Votech building area. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, the driver, and subsequently arrested 19 year old Kade Smith of Kennett for Driving While Intoxicated. Smith was transported to and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center prior to being released at a later time on a Kennett Municipal Court Summons pending his court date.

At approximately 4:57 a.m., officers arrested 27 year old Kendra Malone on an active Parole Violation warrant out of Taney County. Malone was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center with out bond.

At approximately 6:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Emerson Street in reference to property damage. Upon arrival, officers took a report regarding tires being slashed on a vehicle. At the time of this report there are no suspects identified.

At approximately 8:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in regards to a wanted person. Officers subsequently arrested 56 year old Greg Allen of Kennett on a warrant for absconding his parole. Allen was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center with out bond.

At approximately 9:34 a.m., officers arrested 22 year old Onterria Carter of Caruthersville on an active Kennett Municipal Court warrant charging her with failing to appear on the original charge of shoplifting. Carter later posted a $100 cash only bond and was released pending her new court date.

At approximately 2:07 p.m., officers were contacted at the Kennett Police Department by the Dunklin County Children’s Division, in regards to a possible incident involving child abuse. At this point, all parties involved in the incident have been contacted and the incident is still under investigation.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Floyd Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival and during subsequent investigation, officers did identify a suspect however the incident is still currently under investigation.

At approximately 5:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of South Anthony Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers issued one driver a Kennett Municipal Court Summons for Driving While Suspended and then completed a private property accident report.

At approximately 6:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in regards to a person refusing to leave the property. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 45 year old Shelly Morgan of Tulsa Oklahoma for Failing to Obey a Lawful Order. Morgan was transported to and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., officers began receiving information in regards to several social media posts being made about a possible threat that had been made towards students of the Kennett High School. After speaking with several individuals, the juvenile who had reportedly made the threats was located and detained. At this point, the investigation is still ongoing however, the juvenile is still in the custody of the Dunklin County Juvenile office and there are no other reported threats towards the school that our department is aware of.

At approximately 10:42 p.m., officers arrested 19 year old Jacob Glidewell on an active Kennett Municipal Warrant for failing to appear. Glidewell was later released pending a new court date.

Feb. 22, 2018

At approximately 11:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 38 year old Jonathan Conley of Kennett on two State of Missouri warrants charging him with 1st Degree Trespassing and Resisting Arrest. Conley was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only and with a bond of $5000.00.

At approximately 12:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart Supercenter in reference to a person trespassing on the property. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 30 year old Patricia Robinson of Caruthersville for trespassing. Robinson was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court Summons pending her court date.

At approximately 12:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart Supercenter in reference to two shoplifters. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 46 year old Jimmy Lockhart and 41 year old Carolyn McIntyre, both of Hayti, for shoplifting. Both Lockhart and McIntyre were later released on Kennett Municipal Court Summons pending their court dates.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., officers were contacted at the police department in regards to a potential child abuse incident. This incident is still under investigation and no further details will be released at this point.
