Clarkton stabbing update

Multiple law enforcement agencies descended on Clarkton on Monday. An initial call for a residential fight, turned into a stabbing, requiring area emergency medical teams, including the Survival Flight medical helicopter. The incident occurred on Pearce Street. More details will follow in the DDD as information becomes available.

At approximately 12:57 p.m. on Monday, Clarkton police were dispatched to the 200 block of East Pierce Street for a report of a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, officers located three victims with serious injuries.

Two victims appeared to have been stabbed and another had been struck by a vehicle.

The suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody without incident.

All victims received serious injuries, but none are believed to be life threatening at this time.

The suspect is being housed in the Dunklin County Jail pending filing of formal charges.

More information will be made available after formal charges are filed.

Multiple law enforcement agencies and area emergency medical teams responded to the incident and Police Chief David Dillard and the Clarkton Police Department would like to thank the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office and Gideon Police Department for their assistance.
