The Truth Works
Preying On Women
Some people in our society will criminally take advantage of women financially. Such predators have taken money from elderly women in order to make needed home repairs. Then, they not only do not do the promised work, but leave town with the money paid them. These are disgusting individuals who take advantage of innocent victims.
While some act as described above, others will take financial advantage of unsuspecting women stopping just short of reaching a criminal level. They do this deceitfully by being dishonest, unfair and unjust in some of their business practices. It is important for those who claim to be religious to practice their Christian principles since there are fewer and fewer people who espouse and practice these principles.
Some of these principles are stated in the following scriptures. "Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." (Romans 13:10) "... Provide things honest in the sight of all men." (Romans 12:17) "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal ... And if there be any other commandment, it it briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12)
Any person who takes advantage of single women, single moms, and widows should be ashamed of themselves. Some car repair shops and car salesmen will overcharge female customers because they know that most are not knowledgeable about such things. They take advantage by overcharging them for products because they know women do not wish to haggle. Some may charge for parts that don't exist and for hours never worked. My dad was a mechanic and worked on transmissions. He didn't charge anyone for parts they did not need or for items that needed no repairs. He knew that fairness and honesty in his business would bring back repeat customers who would continue to recommend his work to others.
Some home repairmen overcharge for their services. Homebuilders may charge for higher priced materials while using cheaper ones in construction. How much more money would these women have in their pocketbooks, if not for the unethical practices of some who are more concerned about filling their pockets? Some politicians and businessmen might use opportunities to cheaply obtain property by auctioning off the residences of single women and moms who are unable to pay their high property taxes.
God is concerned for single women, moms, and widows. "A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation." (Psalms 68:5) God wants us to be concerned about them, also. "Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow." (Isaiah 1:17) "Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy." (Psalms 82:3)
God is closely watching those who would mistreat and take advantage of women and children. "Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child." (Exodus 22:22) "Woe unto them that decree unrighteousness decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!" (Isaiah 10:2) "And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart." (Zechariah 7:10)
