Charges filed in spanking incident

The wife of Caruthersville's police chief, Kim Jones, has been charged with second degree endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, Jones is charged in connection with an incident involving a three year old boy. The Sheriff's Department received a complaint from the child's parents, Steven and Kayla McLevain last month that Jones spanked their child and left welts on his legs and bottom. Jones appeared for arraignment today and is scheduled to be back in court on August 6.
