U.S. 412 crash seriously injures one

A two-car crash on U.S. Highway 412 at Octa Wednesday afternoon seriously injured one driver. 17-year-old Kameron Houchins, of Senath, was airlifted by Air Evac to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, in Memphis, where he was listed in serious condition. Traffic was delayed, as emergency crews worked the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E report, filed by Trooper B.W. Emerson, stated that, at approximately 3:53 p.m., Houchins, who was not wearing a seatbelt, drove his eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado into the path of a northbound 2012 Ford F750, driven by 65-year-old Elmo Poyner, of Tiptonville, Tenn. Houchins's car was totaled, while Poyner's vehicle sustained extensive damage.
