Final preparations for 2014 Delta Children's Home Auction and Bake Sale

Friday, October 17, 2014

Delta Children's Home Auction organizers are gathering up the last of the community's donations for the event. Today and tomorrow, they will load all the merchandise into the American Legion Building and set it up for the first gavel fall, on Sunday. For weeks, the board members have been traveling around town, picking up the many items that local businesses, schools and organizations have donated for the event. This year's auction line-up includes some unique additions, including a Fender telecaster guitar, autographed by Kennett native, Sheryl Crow, and two Dunklin County Limited Historical Edition .22 long rifles (LR's). Only 25 of these rifles were produced, and the edition is now sold out. The rifles come from the private collection of the late L.C. Cuff, courtesy of his wife, Barbara. Many of the donated auction items have recently been on display in the windows of the Daily Dunklin Democrat, in downtown Kennett.
