KCC Pool contractor makes initial court appearance

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

The Blytheville businessman suspected of abandoning the renovation of the Kennett Country Club (KCC) swimming pool made an initial court appearance on Tuesday at the Dunklin County Courthouse in downtown Kennett. Zyndle Leigh Ward, 53, of Blytheville, Ark., appeared before 35th Circuit Court Division II Judge, John Spielman. Ward had filled out an application for a public defender. The Dunklin County Public Defender's office denied the request, citing the fact that Ward had posted a $50,000 bond, releasing him from custody at the Dunklin County Justice Center in Kennett. Spielman directed Ward to appear back in his courtroom on August 12, with hired counsel. A preliminary hearing date in the case will be set at that August court date. See the July 22 Daily Dunklin Democrat article for additional details about this story.
