The Wrath of God

Friday, July 18, 2014

Last week we learned that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Hebrews 10:30), and He alone can repay those who do evil. (Romans 12:19) Today, there is a great need for us to understand the subject of the vengeance and wrath of God. Some attempt to make God look like the culprit when He punishes sin. God cannot be tempted to sin (James 1:13) and is without sin. "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." (Deuteronomy 32:4) Most religionists today have so emphasized the goodness of God that they have completely ignored the other side of God's nature which demonstrates His justice and wrath. To purposely ignore this side of God's nature is to create a different god for men to worship instead of the true God. (John 4:24)
