Highway 412 included in MoDOT priorities list

Friday, July 11, 2014

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) announced Wednesday that the proposed U.S. Highway 412 expansion project has now officially been put on its transportation priorities list. The project would expand the stretch of highway, from Kennett to the Arkansas state line, to four lanes, separated by a median. It is among hundreds of statewide projects that were also approved by MoDOT, to improve Missouri's transportation infrastructure. All the projects would move forward, if Constitutional Amendment 7 is approved by voters on the August 5 statewide ballot. That amendment calls for a three-quarters cent sales tax, which would raise a total of $5.4 billion annually, to fund all of the projects. The tax would end, or sunset, in 10 years.
