CAMPBELL -- Two Dunklin County teens suffered moderate injuries after a pavilion collapsed on them during a storm on Thursday.

According to family members, on Thursday afternoon, Cheyenne Burch, 17, and Valerie Bailey, 15, went for a walk from Bailey's home in Campbell to the public park. As the storm approached, the girls took shelter at a pavilion and awaited a ride from Bailey's father, Ronnie.

As he was pulling up, Mr. Bailey said he saw the pavilion collapse on the two young girls, and immediately ran to their aid.

Burch was knocked unconscious during the incident, but came too shortly after.

Both girls were transported by Medic One to Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center for treatment.
