Ark. woman arrested on drug charges at Walmart parking lot

Friday, April 5, 2013

An Arkansas woman was arrested in the parking lot of Walmart in Kennett on Wednesday evening on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Kennett Police Department, while the newly formed KPD Street Crimes Unit was working a surveillance detail, officers became aware of a possible drug transaction in the parking lot at Walmart Supercenter, located at 1500 First Street.

Officers detained two individuals suspected of being involved in the drug transaction and, upon further investigation, officers discovered an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine which was packaged for delivery.

Officers subsequently arrested Elizabeth Friar, 22, of Paragould, on charges of possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to the Dunklin County Justice Center, pending the filing of formal charges from the Dunklin County Prosecutor's Office.

Anyone with information on this or other crimes are urged to contact the Kennett Police Department at (573) 888-4622.
