Holcomb wins 12th straight, cruises past Malden

The Malden Green Wave became the latest victim of the state-ranked Holcomb Hornets varsity boys basketball team Tuesday night.

Holcomb outscored Malden by less than 10 in every quarter on its way to a convincing 67-42 road win.

Jamie Massey calculated a team-high 32 points for the Hornets. Michael Glover recorded 17 points and James Vance added 10 more for Holcomb.

Malden's Cortez Dobbins finished with a team-high 16 points. Romello McCoy also finished in double digits with 12 points.

Holcomb (16-3) is ranked No. 4 in the latest Class 2 state poll. It has won 12 straight games. The Hornets will have the opportunity to finish Tri-County Conference regular-season play perfect Friday night when it hosts nearby Clarkton.

The Green Wave (9-10) return to action Friday when it hosts district rival Doniphan.
