PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. -- Four Pemiscot County residents were arrested following two unrelated drug incidents.
On Jan. 25, at approximately 1 p.m., Hayti Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. As a result of the traffic stop, Hayti Officers noticed that the occupants of the vehicle were acting in a suspicious manner. Hayti Officers then obtained content to search the vehicle and as a result, officers located several items commonly used for smoking marijuana. As a result, officers arrested the driver, 18-year-old Jacob K Carmack, 21-year-old Russell E. Gray, Jr., and 17-year-old Brandon Weeks, all three of Wardell, Mo., for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All three suspects were processed at the Hayti Police Department and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center in lieu of $183, cash bond. The suspects were also given a Hayti Municipal Court date of Jan. 31, 2013, where the hearing will begin at 5 p.m.
In a separate incident, on Jan. 28, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Hayti Officers were requested for assistance by Pemiscot Memorial ambulance crew. Upon arrival, Hayti Officers assisted the ambulance crew and subsequently, officers observed several marijuana pipes and a small amount of marijuana in the back seat of the patient's vehicle. A short time later, officers went to the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital and when the suspect, 35-year-old Lana M. Russ of Osceola, Ark., was released from the hospital, she was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia. Russ was processed and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center, with a bond of $493.50 and a court date of Jan. 31, 2013.
