Nora Lee True was born Feb., 19, 1934, in Tennessee, to Flaut and Ruth True. Her family was large with several siblings. At age 11 she was placed in an orphanage in Dyersburg, Tenn. She was later adopted by Nath and Lyndol Kirk. The adoption gave her one of her best friends in life, her brother Jerry Kirk.

On April 29, 1950, Nora married Winfred Tackeberry. They had one daughter, Debra Lynn.

After spending 15 years in West Helena, Ark., Nora and Winfred returned to Kennett to farm their land that had been in the Tackeberry family for over 100 years. Their faith in God was the thread that held them together. They attended the Church of the Nazarene and later Emerson Street Church of God. In their early years they attended the General Baptist Church which sits on the Tackeberry Family Farm at Octa, Mo.

Nora is preceded in death by her birth parents, her adopted parents, her brother, Jerry Kirk, and all of her birth siblings except one.

The joy of Nora's life was her family, daughter, Debbie South, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughter, Julie Katherine, her husband, Kyle Whittle, their son, Caden Alexander and daughter, Elizabeth Grace, of Frisco, Texas; granddaughter, Jana Lane, her husband, Dr. Jay Corwin, their daughter Sydney Lane and son, Carson Noel, of Edmond, Okla.

We are comforted by knowing that "God shall wipe away all tears," and that Nora is enjoying a great cup of coffee in heaven.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Harry Turner officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
