STEELE, Mo. ---- A local man was arrested Wednesday, January 16, after Steele Police Officers responded to a residence on Lynn Drive in reference to a domestic violence assault involving a handgun.
Keith Robertson, 33 of Steele, was arrested by officers after allegedly pulling out a handgun and placing the gun to his wifes head, while threatening to shoot her. The woman, whom he was threatening, was supposedly holding a baby during the incident.
During the altercation, according to authorities, Robertson physically assaulted his 18-year-old stepson by striking him across the head with the same gun.
When Robertson was arrested by Steele Police, no further incident was reported, and officers were able to secure the handgun.
Police Chief, Billy Joe Stanfield filed charges against Robertson, through the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. A warrant was subsequently issued on Keith Robertson, charging him with two counts of domestic assault in the first degree, domestic assault in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. His bond has been set at $100,000.
Robertson is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment, which is set to take place Jan. 24, 2013 at 10 a.m., in the Division II Courtroom at the Pemiscot County Justice Center.
