POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center proudly announces the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new, $173 million hospital at 3100 Oak Grove Road in Poplar Bluff, Mo. The celebration is scheduled for Friday, January 18, at 11 a.m..

"This is truly an exciting time for PBRMC, the community of Poplar Bluff and the entire region we serve" states Charles Stewart, CEO of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and the Missouri Region.

"Just fifteen months ago, we broke ground to start the construction process and now we are ready to open the doors to the future of healthcare for this region. This has truly been the most well organized project I have ever been involved with," Stewart said.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies will be held at the new hospital campus at 3100 Oak Grove Road. The presentation beginning at 11 a.m. will include speakers from the hospital, medical staff, and business community to honor the occasion. The actual ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m.

A Community Open House will be held on Saturday, January 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This opportunity will offer community members an inside look at the new Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with guided tours of the new campus.

"This is not just about the hospital. It's a celebration for and about the entire community and region, and the future of health care for all of the communities we serve. This new hospital campus is not only a demonstration of PBRMC's commitment to bring the very best health care close to home, but also of our dedication and commitment to the future of our community and the long term growth and success for the region" Stewart said.

From January 18 to January 26, PBRMC will complete the move from the North Campus on Westwood Boulevard to the new campus on Oak Grove Road. On January 26, at 6 a.m., Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at 3100 Oak Grove Road will officially open its doors to accept patients.

January 26 will also be "Patient Move Day." All patients at the current North Campus will be relocated to one of the new private patient care rooms at the Oak Grove Campus. PBRMC has partnered with local EMS and law enforcement units to ensure patients are moved as quickly and safely as possible.

"We are very grateful for the generous and dedicated support of our local EMS and law enforcement units during this transition," Stewart said.

The new Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art 7-story hospital offering 250 private patient rooms, advanced medical technology, easier accessibility and an expansion of healthcare services.
