Cecil Irvin Lyell, of Bragg City, Mo., was born May 18, 1944, in Tovey, Ill.
He passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home in Bragg City at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 18 days.
He was united in marriage to Bobbie Sue Abbott on Aug. 13, 1965, in Pascola, Mo.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Bragg City Baptist Church, an Alderman of Bragg City, and a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved fishing, mechanizing, farming, aggravating and making people laugh and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Arah Capcola Arnold Lyell and four brothers, Joe, Billy, Bobby and David Russell Lyell.
He leaves the following to cherish his memory, his wife, Bobbie Sue Lyell, of Bragg City; two daughters, Nora Sue and husband, Charles Dewayne Hindmon, of Bragg City, and Peggy Ann and husband, Jerry Paul Walters, of Bragg City; his son, Christopher Dewayne Lyell and wife, Bethany Dawn, of Bragg City; his six grandchildren, R.B. Dewayne and Nathan Allen Hindmon, Kevin, Heather Sue Ann, Chrislynn Nicole and Christopher Cayden Lyell; four great-grandchildren, Brooklin Dawn Hindmon, Hunter, Devon and Zophia Lyell; his sister, Okerlene Forrester; two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Lyell, both of Kennett and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Pallbearers were James Ray Davis, Ricky John Hooper, Anthony Underwood, Joey Duncan, Charles Hindmon and Anthony Hogan.
