Hearing set for man accused of deviate sex acts

WARDELL, Mo.- A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m., January 14, 2013, for Charles Weaver, 56, a Wardell man who has been accused of nine counts of Deviate Sexual Assault.

Three incidents, according to Missouri Case Net, stem back to incidents taking place in 2011 and six occurring in 2012.

Weaver is also charged with one count of Abuse of a Health Care Recipient which reportedly took place in 2011. All charges are classified as Felony C.

Charges stem from a complaint received on Dec. 6, 2012, by someone associated with the Division of Senior Services Division about the misconduct of an employee. Allegedly, the incidents occurred over a time frame of several months while Weaver was visiting with the victim in his home at Hayti, Mo.

According to authorities, Weaver was arrested on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 and was arraigned on charges Dec. 10. Originally, Weaver's bond was set at $250,000 but was reduced to $200,000 which was posted.

Weaver had been employed with the Division of Senior Services in Caruthersville, Mo.

Representing Weaver is attorney Wendell Louis Hoskins, II, of Caruthersville. Judge Byron D. Luber has been assigned to the case.
