C'ville man injured in New Year's Day crash

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. ---- A man was injured following a New Year's Day crash on Route D, south of Caruthersville.

According to Sgt. J. N. Crites with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Bobby Ayers, 29 of Caruthersville was driving south in a 2006 Ford Fusion, when he traveled off of the left side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned.

Ayers was transported to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The 2006 Ford Fusion was totaled and was towed from the scene.

Ayers was reported to have been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
