Wesley Motes Sr., son of the late Lonnie Motes and Irene Looney Motes, was born on May 19, 1939 in Memphis, Tenn., and departed this life on December 25, 2012 at the age of 73 years.
Visitation for Mr. Motes will be held today, Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Mo. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2 p.m., at the McDaniel Chapel in Senath, with Rev. Richard Motes officiating. Burial will take place at the Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell, Mo. Pallbearers will be family.
Mr. Motes was married on June 1, 1962 in Blytheville, Ark., to Barbara Whitworth, who survives. He served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Motes is also survived by one son, Wesley Motes and wife Shanna of Paragould, Ark.; two daughters, Kimberly Doty and husband John of Clearwater, Fl., and Carla Hummer and husband Michael of Madiera Beach, Fl.; five brothers, Johny Ray Motes of Guntown, Miss., Clarence Motes of Kansas City, Mo., Vernon Motes of Tupelo, Miss., Richard Motes of Southhaven, Miss., and James Motes of Cardwell; one sister, Judy Whitworth of Marmaduke, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica, Lindsey, Samantha, Tamara, Jonathan, and Christopher; and three great- grandchildren, Riley, Mykaela, and Sierra.
Mr. Motes was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Mitchel Motes, Fred Motes and Alfred "Al" Motes; and one sister, Carolyn Sue Motes.
