Karen Christine Brandenburg, 87, of Malden died Saturday, December 15, 2012, at her residence in Malden. She was a member of the American Legion and affiliated with Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden.
Born August 2, 1925, in Paris, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John Frank Pflueger and Dorothy (Duckworth) Pflueger. On June 10, 1938, in Greenfield, Ind., she was united in marriage to James Henry Brandenburg, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Reed, one granddaughter, April Diehl and two great-grandchildren, Cody Mann and Dakota Welch.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Haifley of Malden and Karen Isham of Bernie; two sisters, Audrey Cato of Malden and Dathel Manning and husband, Cletus, of Gideon; one brother, Ernest Pfueger and wife, Vivian, of Kennett; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Dan Hargrave officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements. .
