Catherine Louise Whitlock, of Kennett, daughter of the late Walter Scott Horton and Mamie Ethel Kelley, was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Brookland, Ark., and departed this life Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 , at National HealthCare in Kennett, at the age of 85.

She married Thomas Earl Wayne 'Buddy" Whitlock Nov. 18, 1942, in Paragould, Ark., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one great grandson, Luke McMasters; one great-great grandson, Baby Caden; one granddaughter, Jo Ella McMasters; three brothers, J.W. Horton, Curtis Horton and Henry Horton, and four sisters, Thora Lawrence, Martha Edrington, Jewel Cooper and Mary Somers.

Catherine's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was much loved by her children and extended family and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church. Currently she was attending Faith Baptist Church in Senath, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, Glen Allen Whitlock and wife, Patsy, of Kennett and Gary Wayne Whitlock and wife, Sheila, of Kennett; three daughters, Marla June Boyer, of Jonesboro, Ark., Sharon Louise Branch and husband, Danny, of West Memphis, Ark., and Barbara Carol McMasters and husband, Joel, of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nita Bowden, of Farmington, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Brian Whitlock and Robbie McMasters officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are the grandchildren, Vic Brooks, Chad Brooks, Kenneth Romans, Jim Heath, Derek Whitlock and Curt Whitlock.

Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers, Kalene Warner, Shawnna Romans, Kathy Yocum and Katelyn Whitlock.
