HORNERSVILLE, MO. ---- A Hornersville home has been left in ashes after a fire last night, Thursday, December 6, 2012.

According to Tommy Burgess, with the Hornersville Fire Department, the fire was reported at approximately 7 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames, with the blaze being so strong that it melted the siding of a neighboring home.

The unoccupied home burned for "a couple of hours," Burgess said.

A neighbor reported having to run children away from the home, after seeing them playing inside of the fire damaged home.

The home, located on Bunch Street, "was a house we had to put out two or three months ago." Said Burgess.

At this time, the home is suspected to have been set, as the home was not hooked up to electricity.

The Arbyrd, Mo., and Senath, Mo., Fire Departments were called in for mutual aid to help extinguish the blaze.
