Mr. Turpin was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Senath, Mo. He had retired as a Maintenance Supervisor for The Cedargate Care Center in Poplar Bluff. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising a flower and vegetable garden and boasted of his acres of blackberries.
His wife, Wilma Lee Scott; two sisters, Vivian and Helen Rose, of the St. Louis area; his parents, Robert Jefferson Turpin and Lydia Turnbow Turpin, of Senath, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three children, Sharon Edgin of Bernie, Mo., Harold Turpin and wife, Carolyn, of St. Louis, Mo., and Mike Turpin and wife, Pamela, of Hermitage; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ed Turpin, of Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, in the funeral chapel with Rev. Richard Triplett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
