Billye Jean Lincoln, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Cedargate Nursing Center.
Mrs. Lincoln was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Williford, Ark., to Samuel Austin and Ella Leah Cooper Ladd. She was an elementary school teacher at several schools in southeast Missouri, and later when they moved to Poplar Bluff she became the Director of Medical Records for Doctors Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith, and her goal in life was to be a good wife and mother. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
On Feb. 28, 1953, she married Jack R. Lincoln, in Paragould, Ark., who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jill Dusing and husband, Reginald, of Lee's Summit, Mo., Jack Lincoln, Jr., and David B. Lincoln, both of Poplar Bluff; and three grandchildren, Brad L. Dusing, Mark A. Dusing and Samuel S. Dusing.
Preceding Mrs. Lincoln in death were her parents; two brothers, Herald Austin Ladd and Howard Ladd and one sister, Anna Joe Meisenheimer.
A graveside service and burial were held at 11:00 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
